A simple and delicious authentic Bangladeshi rice dumplings also known as mera pitha, soi pitha, muitta pitha or many other names. Often eaten with spicy bhorta or bhuna curries as well as sugar, jaggery syrup or date molasses.Only 2 ingredients.

1 pot
1 pan/pot to cook rice flour
1 colander for steaming.
Ingredients
4cupsrice flour.store-bought, or binni rice, atop rice flour.
1tspsalt
1/2cupfresh shredded coconutoptional but highly recommended.
4cupshot water.
Instructions
You can dry roast the rice flour in a pan until fragrant.this step is optional but recommended. medium low heat stir continuously to avoid burning.
In a pot add 4-5 cups of water and bring it to a boil.
add salt and roasted dry flour.
poke some holes and keep the heat on medium.cover the pot with a lid and cook for 3-5minutes.
now mix very well. making sure to form a dough.
take it off the heat, pour it into a bowl. knead a soft dough while its still hot.
Be careful and use splash of cold water if needed.
now make equal portions of balls. give them your desired shapes.you can check out my Instagram reel on it for a better idea.
Add a pot of water to the stove. bring it to a boil. spray a colander w some ghee/oil. add the mera pithas in. Cover with a lead and steam for 10-15 minutes.
once ready take it off the stove and serve hot with bhortas, curries or something sweet of your choice.
