Deshi Macaroni Recipe: A Spicy Bangladeshi Twist on classic macaroni
Bangladeshi style Macaroni
Deshi Macaroni is a Bangladeshi-style pasta dish cooked with bangladeshi classic spices, vegetables, and sometimes chicken or eggs. It’s a quick, flavorful meal that brings a unique deshi twist to classic macaroni.Often eaten in the evening as a snack or a school lunch, it's one of my childhood favourite dishes.
Equipment
- 1 pot/pan to cook
Ingredients
- 3 cups macaroni
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 cup chopped tomatoes
- 4-5 chopped green chilies
- 2 eggs
- 1 chicken breast cut in small pieces
- 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella optional
- 3 tbsp oil/butter to cook
- 1 cup mixed veggies. frozen or fresh.
- 1/2 cup chopped coriander.
Instructions
- Cook the macaroni in salted water for 7-8 minutes or until al dente.
- Strain and leave it aside.
- in the same pan, add oil, and chopped onion and cook until golden brown.
- add ginger garlic paste, tomatoes, chilies and cook again for 2-3 minutes.
- Add the spices and then the chicken pieces. give it a mix
- Add salt, and pepper and cook in high heat until oil seperates.
- Add the cooked macaroni, scrambled eggs, little bit of ketchup and give it a toss.
- Add shredded mozzarella and squeeze in some lemon juice.
- lastly finish it off with some chopped coriander.
