Easy Mini Gulab Jamun Recipe: Little Bites Of Joy

Mini gulab jamun or choto mishti

Mini Gulab Jamun are bite-sized versions of the classic sweet gulab jamun, perfect for indulging in sweet, syrupy goodness without overindulging. Can be used for variety of other desserts such as cheesecake, cakes, jarda etc

Equipment

  • 1 pot to fry
  • 1 pot to soak in sugar syrup

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup milk powder
  • 1/3 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp ghee
  • 3 tbsp egg mixture or milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1-2 cardamom
  • 4 cups oil to fry
  • 1 pinch of saffron

Instructions
 

  • In a small bowl or a plate add milk powder , baking powder and, mix
  • add ghee and egg mixture or alternating with same amount of milk
  • Knead into a soft smooth dough then using ghee in the palm of your hands roll little balls out of it. keep in mind they'll grow bigger in size while frying and soaking in. the syrup.
  • On the other hand, add sugar and smashed cardamom in a pot add 2 cups of warer and bring it to a boil.
  • Heat up oil for deep frying. gently throw in the balls we made earlier.
  • Fry them evenly from all sides until bright orange color.
  • take them out of the oil and immediately put them in the sugar syrup.
  • cover and cook in high heat for 5-10 minutes. Then turn off the heat and soak for another 20-30 minutes. add saffron.
  • serve with mawa or lots of chopped pistachios.
  • enjoy.
